Let the world get to know Shanghai and let Shanghai walk onto the world stage. When Shanghai is approaching to the standard of cosmopolis, to care for and support education is becoming the consensus of the whole society. Cooperating with embassies and consulates and education authorities outside China, Shanghai Education Association for International Exchange (SEAIE) co-sponsors and assists a series of international education exhibitions and academic conferences every year to introduce the latest education trend abroad to Shanghai citizens and professionals in the education community and put up a stage for performing educational cooperation and exchange between China and other countries.

In 1992, SEAIE successfully held the "U.S Education Exhibition", pioneering the practice of introducing world-class education through education exhibitions. Since 1997, co-sponsored with the British Consulate General in Shanghai, SEAIE has succeeded in holding "British Education Exhibition" for 4 consecutive years. The "2000 British Education Exhibition" is the greatest international education exhibition in Shanghai since liberation and altogether 99 British universities, colleges and institutions took part in the exhibition.

As a routine, SEAIE cooperates with Australian, New Zealand and British Consulate Generals to run education exhibitions and seminars of different scales, which were participated by about one hundred universities from USA, Canada, Britain, Germany, France, Australia and other countries. SEAIE also cooperates with some international organizations in multi-national professional exhibitions, e.g. "MBA Exhibition" co-hosted by GMAC of USA. Within three months in spring, 2000, "Education 2000 in Ireland", "2000 UK Education Exhibition", "Education in New Zealand", "Australian Education Exhibition" and "International Education Expo China" and many lectures by overseas universities came one after another, which has put on a unique scene in Shanghai. About one million people visited the exhibitions and lectures, and native and foreign media reported these events. The main function of the exhibitions has changed from simply communicating at booths to academic seminars, lectures, curriculum exchange and so on. Both the standard and the content of education exchange have made a breakthrough in quality as well as in quantity.

SEAIE also has cooperated with several other organizations on over 10 international symposiums concerning education, law, finance, commerce and mathematics. Among them, the Ninth Annual PACAP Finance Conference is the largest in scale and highest in grade. Senior officials from Fiscal Department, Stock Supervisory Committee, World Bank, Asian Development Bank and executives from JP Morgan, Merlyn Brothers，Nomura Stocks and other well-known businesses took part in the conference and made speeches.

SEAIE has accumulated rich experience and reached high management level through so many large-scale international education exhibitions and seminars. During the 1998 ISF, SEAIE was invited to join the organizational work and received high comment.
